What makes Melodie different?
My path has never been traditional — and that’s precisely what gives my coaching its strength and depth.
I didn’t begin my career with a polished resume full of impressive jobs, degrees or credentials. My first job after first year university was working at Dairy Queen/Orange Julius in the shopping mall food court. I didn’t come from a background that gave me a clear roadmap or step-by-step guide to follow. What I did have was a quiet but steady voice that kept saying:
“Why not you? Let's just try.”
That question — why not me? — became a guiding principle in my life. It changed everything.
It gave me the courage to say yes to opportunities that were a stretch for my qualifications. I stepped into leadership roles before I had any formal training. I found myself speaking live on Global News without ever setting foot in a newsroom prior. I built my career, not by waiting to be chosen or chasing perfection, but by showing up fully, trusting my instincts, and allowing my authenticity to lead the way and, frankly, taking a leap of faith.
Now I've found my passion in inspiring others to do the same.
This mindset — one of self-trust, resilience, and permission to take up space — is at the heart of how I support others today. I work with people who are tired of trying to fit into boxes that were never made for them. People who are ready to stop performing and start aligning.
My background in media has given me a unique lens. For nearly a decade, I worked in an industry where communication had to be clear, engaging, and human. I learned how to take big, sometimes intimidating topics, and make them relatable and accessible. That skill now lives in my coaching practice, where I bring presence, perspective, and practical support to every conversation.
